Inventory management, but it’s fashion, and its social!?

Posted by

OOTD(working title) is essentially an inventory management system skinned for fashionistas like moi with social elements.
except I’m building this just for me and for fun, so follow the progress on GitHub and twitter and here, errrm.

I plan to build a functioning prototype, invite people, and continue adding features until I get bored.

Core functionality

I plan to launch the beta with five core features

Garment logging

You will be able to save garments and accessories to the wardrobe including tags and sizing.

Outfit logging

Outfit logging you will be able to create an outfit from garments and accessories from the wardrobe or new items that will then go into your wardrobe for later use.

Outfit sharing

Outfits and wardrobes will be private by default but you can choose to make those public and when made public will be visible in the feed.

Outfit feed

The feed will be global displaying all public outfits in chronological order from recent to less recent.

Garment/Outfit Analytics and Insights

Analytic, now this is the part I like the most.
OOTD will produce analytics, graphs, and charts based on brands, categories, and tags you upload to your wardrobe. Producing insights like how much of your wardrobe is jackets, accessories or fast fashion, how well you utilise your wardrobe, and identify garments you’re not wearing. And other insights of the like (feeding that neurotic part of your brain just feels soooo good =] )
